Plant information

Basically, there are three ways to weigh the ice:

  • Batch weighing via a weighing hopper This is filled with ice and opens as soon as the desired weight is reached. The ice can thus fall onto a conveyor belt, into a mobile container or into a screw conveyor and be conveyed to its destination. This is the simplest and most precise way, to weigh ice in a defined quantity. Available container sizes: 250 kg - 1,200 kg of ice.
  • Batch weighing via a weighing screw conveyor A weighing screw conveyor is placed either at the exit of the ice storage or in front of the rotary valve in case of pneumatic conveying. The advantage of the weighing screw conveyor is the concept of discharging at a controlled and adjustable speed. A container at the inlet of the weighing screw is filled with the selected amount of ice filled and then emptied. Available container sizes: 300 kg - 1,000 kg of ice.
  • Continuous weighing via weighing belt or weighing auger Continuous weighing is done either with a weighing belt or a weighing screw. Both systems are reliable and offer the highest ice discharge rates compared to other weighing systems. In this process, a continuous mass flow of ice is dosed from the ice storage into the weighing device and then immediately transported further. Available ice discharge quantities: 60 tons of ice per hour.

KTI Ice Selling System (KISS)

Especially in the fishing industry, KTI ice factories are often operated at central locations, e.g. at the quay of a harbor. Fishermen, fish processors or operators of fish markets call off the required quantity of ice, which is then invoiced by the ice factory operator. The KTI Ice Selling System (KISS) provides many Advantages and options for smooth operation:

  • In combination with the KTI ice weighing systems, the exact amount of ice be documented.
  • KTI customers thus always have a Overview about the amount of ice sold in a database.
  • This can, just like the ice plant itself, be connected via an interface to a higher-level Control system connected be
  • A comfortable operation is realized through the use of RFID badges that allow ice shoppers to log in to the KISS themselves.
  • After inserting the desired amount of ice into a touch interface, the ice is unloaded. After complete unloading, a customer receipt can be printed. The whole process is automatic - that saves time and money.
